Job Opening – In-House Loan Officer (Multiple States)

We are currently seeking loan officers to work on-site in these states:

Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Florida.

Success Mortgage is a rapidly growing mortgage brokerage based in the Mid-Atlantic. The Key to our Success (pun intended) is our great rates, fast processing and side of the box mortgage products with expanded guidelines.

We are looking for an experienced loan officer to join our team and work in-house with one of our partner real estate offices. This does not mean you are tied to a desk or limited to only working with those agents. It’s an opportunity to have your foot in the door to meet more agents and close more loans. Responsibilities:

Loan Application Evaluation:

  • Thoroughly evaluate loan applications to determine the creditworthiness of each applicant.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis, including assessing income, debt, and credit scores.
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine the likelihood of loan repayment.

Sales, Marketing and Leads

  • Call on all purchase and refinance leads given by Success Mortgage. Move the borrower through the loan application process to close.
  • Attend partner real estate companies meetings and events. Build rapport and relationships with agents to earn their client referrals.
  • Market yourself through open house, community events and social media. Built a network of referral partners, in-house realtors, outside realtors, lawyers, accounts.

Negotiating Loan Terms:

  • Work with clients to negotiate loan terms that are beneficial to both the applicant and the lending institution.
  • Ensure that loan terms comply with internal guidelines and external regulations.

Document Gathering and Collaboration:

  • Gather and review necessary financial documents from applicants, such as tax returns, bank statements, and proof of income.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure that all required information is submitted promptly.

Software and Tools:

  • Utilize loan origination software and CRM systems to track applications and manage client interactions.
  • Perform credit analysis using tools and ensure adherence to TILA (Truth in Lending Act) regulations.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of loan applications, including approvals, denials, and client communications.
  • Ensure that all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.

Collaboration with Underwriters:

  • Work closely with underwriters and other team members to ensure that loans are processed efficiently and correctly.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues that arise during the underwriting process.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Stay updated with trends in the mortgage and loan industry, including changes in regulations, market conditions, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial sales or a related field
  • NMLS license required
  • Strong knowledge of loan origination processes and procedures
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms for both the client and the lender
  • Ability to analyze creditworthiness and assess risk accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and provide exceptional customer service
